Maile and I have been slacking on our blogging duties. I apologize, but unfortunately I can’t promise that we are going to be more diligent. We are entering our extremely busy period with the start of Chapter Officer Leadership Training or COLT as we call it here at TLC with the Nebraska FFA. It’s a great time where we welcome FFA chapters from all over the state! We will be seeing over 1000+ students! And COLT is just the beginning.
Since we are entering our busy time, organization and being on top of everything is a priority here. Now I am not the most organized person on the planet, but I try. So here are a few tips I use to try and stay on top of my game.
To Do Lists: These are a must for me. At the start of every week I write down everything I need to get done during that week. Everything! I also add the things that always seem to pop up during the week. It helps me stay on top of all that we have going on.
Prioritize your list: Sometimes looking at my to do list can be a little intimidating, but every day I go through my list and mark what HAS to get done that day. It helps make the list less daunting but also helps me get what needs to be done, done. In the event industry you are bound to get interrupted when you are doing something, but staying organized helps eliminate missing things.
Keep things separated: On my desk, there is a place for everything. In doing this, I know where everything is at and if I am missing something. I have a place for quotes that we send out, a place for my cheat sheet, schedule and pricing information. I know where to look when I need to find something, it makes everything more efficient.
These are just a few things that I do that help me stay organized. I know summer is a busy time for families between vacations, baseball/softball, soccer and everything else that goes on. It’s an extremely busy summer here with weddings, receptions, reunions, conferences, etc. and all of these help me and I hope they can help you!!
Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone!
