The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart,”-Helen Keller. June 27th (Helen’s birthday) is recognized as Helen Keller Day which was designated by Jimmy Carter on Helen’s 100th birthday.
Helen Keller was an extraordinary woman. She accomplished so much in her life, with disabilities that didn’t deter her. It is really hard to put into words her accomplishments and what she did for future generations.
I admit I have never really known much about Helen, but when doing research for my blog topic I became inspired by what I found.
“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired and success achieved.”
To me, this quote means that nothing comes easily whether that be character, success, etc. you have to experiences in life, go through trials and tribulations to fully develop those things. Our trials and suffering is what makes us strong and prepares us for what the future holds. Everything happens for a reason.
What you are going through may be hard and difficult at the time, but in the future you will look back and understand what going through that has taught and prepared you for. Respect and appreciate the little gifts life gives you.
Happy belated birthday Helen Keller! May your legacy live on in future generations!
