Every summer, usually a Saturday in late July or early August, a group of incredible professionals gather together to hold the Annual Board Meeting of the Nebraska Vocational Agricultural Foundation (NVAF). This board just so happens to be the owners of The Leadership Center.

July 16th was a big day for The Leadership Center, not just because it was the day of our Evening Stroll Fundraiser, but because that very annual meeting took place earlier that afternoon. During the annual meeting we do a number of things, but most significant is the election and appointments of our board members.

The NVAF Board of Directors is made up of 10 Nebraska Agricultural Education teachers elected from the Nebraska Agricultural Educators Assocation (NAEA) during summer conference in June and 5 outside board members that are appointed by the NVAF Board of Directors.

Brad Andreasen.Thank you to Brad Andreasen of Twin River Public Schools, our outgoing board President. While you have keep the meetings lively and entertaining, your leadership, passion, and direction has made a lasting impact on us. Thank you for being willing to climb roofs, grill pork chops, long calls and all those signatures. We’re sad you are leaving teaching but we wish the best of luck in your farming endeavors. We know you’re just a phone call away. Thank you!

Lonnie KoepkeThank you to Lonnie Koepke of Broken Bow Public Schools, our outgoing secretary. Lonnie, thank you for recording every meeting, keeping files and for being willing to help any time we needed you. You have made signs, done community service, sat in long meeting, brainstormed and truly poured a lot of tender love and care into this place. Thank you for you dedication and service. We know you’ll be a friend for years to come.

Richard EisenhauerThank you to Richard Eisenhauer of Bloomfield Public Schools, our outgoing Vice President. Your leadership, perspective and insight have been invaluable to us. Whether it has been need help with removing trees, auction items, or funds to purchase a tractor, you have been an integral part of our success. We wish the best of luck in retirement and know you will remain a friend of ours, always. Thank you for you willingness, you dedication and your service.
