I am not sure if I have ever shared with you all about how much I love my job, but I love my job. Everyday, I get to come to work and serve wonderful and amazing clients. What makes it better is the people I get to work with to serve our clients. The team here at The Leadership Center is a special group of people. Not just because of the talents and work ethic they bring to the table, but their personalities, ideas, smiles and laughter. My team is truly dedicated to serving our guests and I am so proud to have them working alongside me.

If you have ever perused our website, you’ll see that we have tab for staff. We list everyone on there and the departments they work in. Our team is made up of pretty awesome people including young and young at heart. Given that they are listed in departments, it would be easy to assume that that is the only area they work in, but what most people do not know is that, nearly everyone, at some point, chips in wherever it is needed. We truly are a team.

Housekeeping Manager, Devin and Maintenance Manager, Dario, leading our staff meeting. This past week, we had the opportunity to be the host location for the Hamilton County Teacher’s Appreciation Luncheon. It’s an event that the entire staff looks forward to helping with because we get to see teachers and administrators from Aurora, Hampton, Hampton Lutheran and Giltner schools. These are the people who teach our children, help nurture a number of our staff as we hire a lot of high school students and in some cases, are our clients. This year, we put together a little thank you favor for all the teachers. While the kitchen was prepping one of the most delicious meals: Thanksgiving dinner and fresh baked pie, the rest of staff were packaging the delicious shortbread the kitchen had prepared the day before. We had fun, boxing, curling ribbon and setting them out. All departments, at one point or another, helped get it all together. This is just a small example of how we all work together daily.

Micheala and Maile leading the D4LC"Broadcast" session. When we host our fundraisers, often times, the various departments find themselves helping to decorate, stringing lights, organizing auction items or whatever is needed. During our D4LC conference, some find themselves on panels or facilitating a session. If they are facilitating, that means, they have to design curriculum and present it. Others find themselves leading portions of our outdoor activities, helping park cars during weddings or greeting guests as they check in for their events. Sometimes it’s just stepping up to help another department because there is a need and they just happen to be able to help. It’s great.
Ruth, Maile, Mary (with the Edgerton), Micheala, Devin, Jane and Dario at the Spooktacular 5k Dash & BashOur team is a family. One that laughs a lot, makes jokes, and has a lot of fun together while working really hard to serve our guests to the best of our abilities. I am grateful to get to work with such wonderful people everyday. It makes serving all our incredible guests even better.

It also makes me quite proud because many of our guests remark on how well our team works together and how much they seem to enjoy their work. It’s true, for the most part they do.

Kudo’s the my team. They are the best! I hope you think they are as great as I do when you’re here as our guests.
