If you’ve ever been to The Leadership Center, you’ve probably seen the notation above the front office window, “We put the ‘T.L.C.’ in hospitality.” We put it up a few years ago as a promise to our guests that we proudly put the ‘tender, loving care’ in our service. It seemed fitting given that The Leadership Center is often referred to as T.L.C. and we are in the hospitality business. Of course there is always one in most groups that says the following, “…but there isn’t a “c” in hospitality.” While others go into “The Leadership Center is known as T.L.C.and they put tender, loving care into all they do…”, it’s often greeted with, “but still, there is no “c” in hospitality.”
One day, I came into work and saw the following in our employee break room, “TOGETHER we put the “T.L.C.” in hospitalityc.” It brought both a laugh and an idea. A bit of silly idea, but an idea nonetheless. The staff here at The Leadership Center often go above and beyond what is expected of most businesses like ours. We hear it regularly from our clients. We pride ourselves on the personal care we take with them, treating them better than family. We are the ‘hospitalityc’ experts. From a bit of a spoof, was born our very own adjective, “hospitalityc.” We are the “hospitalityc” authority.
What does “hospitalityc” mean? Here is our definition:
adjective\ hos·pi·tal·i·tyc \ˌhäs-pə-ˈta-lə-tik\
- the activity of providing food, meeting space, lodging, etc. for people who are the guests of The Leadership Center
- adding the extra tender, love and care into serving our guests
- <>personally and kindly caring for our guests
- meeting and exceeding your expectations
- adding the tender, loving care into hospitality
I have done a number of blogs on my staff, praising the incredible things they do and all they add to our business. It is the staff and the vision of our board that has helped write our 48 year history in the hospitality business. I want to introduce you to our great “Hospitalityc Authority.”
