This past Saturday, we had the pleasure to host the Bonnavilla Christmas Party. It’s the third year, they’ve hosted their employee Christmas party with us. It’s always a fun time.
This year, their committee, chose a Hawaiian Luau theme for their party. When Chef Ryan, Micheala and I met with them and they shared this theme with us, we got excited. The possibilities were plentiful.
Chef Ryan set to the task of preparing an incredible menu. After researching and discussing his thoughts with the resident Polynesian (me), he and his staff cooked up an incredible feast.
The menu included:
- Appetizers– Poi, Ham & Pineapple Kabobs with Marmalade, Grilled Pineapple Salsa and chips, Hawaiian Bread and Tzatziki Dip and a fruit display.
- Dinner: Hawaiian Pork, Teriyaki Chicken, Hawaiian Potatoes, Coconut Fried Rice, Stir Fried Vegetables and assorted breads.
- Dessert: Apple & Mixed Berry Blossoms, Assorted Cheesecakes and Lithuanian Torte with Raspberry Sauce…all Bonnavilla favorites.
The food came out fabulously.
Micheala and I put our creative hats on and planned the decorations. This isn’t our first luau, but it was our first luau Christmas. Going through all of our decorations we came up with table centerpieces, room decor and a few surprises including floral decorated Christmas trees (thanks, Mom, for the idea), Hawaiian Totem Poles made out of the room dividers and lighting up the ficus trees with lights and big paper flowers. It turned out beautifully.
Of course the set-up couldn’t have happened without the assistance of Dario and his crew, setting chairs, skirting tables and such. Devin and the housekeeping crew, made sure draping was ready and linens were set.
The Christmas Party Committee for Bonnavilla, came out to do some decorating of their own too. It was a great collaboration that ended in a beautiful and fun evening for all.
We have the opportunity to serve guests and groups from all over with a variety of needs and such.
Whether it’s weddings, retreats, meetings or a Christmas party in this case, we really pride ourselves on the individual care we give our clients. This was no exception. We decked the halls with island flavor right down to the serving staff wearing Hawaiian shirts (Thanks, Barb Olsen) and grass hats. It was fun. (Click here to see more pictures.)
Thank you Bonnavilla for the opportunity to celebrate with you.
We hope you all are enjoying this holiday season in your own special way.
Mele Kalikimaka to you and yours from our team!
PS Here’s a little island music for your holiday season.
