Ok guys, the time has come. I have been working on something incredibly important to me; and it is time to unveil this new special project. First, some background info. If you know anything about me, you know that weddings are one of my favorite things in the entire world. I love attending them, working them, or watching them on tv. Something else you would also know is that I have a degree in hospitality with an emphasis in event planning and love planning events. It’s my passion! Ok now that you know a little bit about me, drumroll please!!! My special project that I’ve been working on the past couple of months is researching, planning, and now implementing full event coordination and day of event coordination to weddings here at The Leadership Center. There it is! It is now officially public! Ahh!!

My role here at The Leadership Center is changing. I am now going to be taking on more work and more responsibility. But, I am super excited about it because I will be doing something that I love doing. I have worked and revamped how we do weddings here. We have changed pricing for weddings, what is included in that new pricing, and, as I mentioned earlier, we are adding full event coordination and day of event coordination. So what does this all mean?

Full event coordination means I will assist with the planning of a wedding. I will help with selection of vendors and communicating with them, organizing vendor drop offs, manage details, help with setup, manage the wedding processional, run the rehearsal, and just be the overall liaison. Day of coordination means just assisting with the day of the wedding, so I will assist with directing vendors, helping with setup, manage the wedding processional, running the rehearsal, and being a liaison just on the day of the wedding.

Our brides and grooms can choose one of the options, or they can choose neither of them. That is completely up to them. We will also have an a la carte menu that our brides and grooms can choose different add-ons for their event.

Full event coordination has been something that I have been thinking about for a couple of years now. I have been asked several times on a wedding walk through if we have event coordination or can help assist them. We have done what we can in the past but have always just been the facility. I think there is so much opportunity out there for us now that we offer event coordination. Aurora really doesn’t have any event coordinator resources. You really have to go to Lincoln or Omaha to find most event coordinators. I think that this is something that is needed in this area. This is something that I am completely passionate about and love helping people.

Something else that was incredibly important to me is that I involved all wedding vendors here in Aurora. I have worked to develop a relationship with those vendors, have put together a preferred vendor list, and want to promote doing business here in Aurora. Aurora is really a one stop shop when it comes to weddings. You can pretty much get everything you would need for a wedding right here in town. That’s amazing! That can save you so much money when you are planning your wedding!!

I am really excited about this new expansion of our business and grateful to Maile for allowing me to take this next step and leave my mark on The Leadership Center. I also want to give a huge thank you out to Kiara for all of her research, discretion, and work on this special project! It’s not only going to be an expansion for The Leadership Center, but it is also going to allow me to expand on my skills and grow as an employee, event coordinator, and as a person. I am not going to lie, it’s a daunting expansion, but I think one that is going to be amazing!!
