To say the Harvest Gala was a huge success was an understatement. It was beautiful and everyone truly  had a wonderful time. Guests enjoyed amazing hors d’oeuvres prepared by Guest Chef Aubrey Saltas while perusing the auctions and getting their pictures taken by Jana VanHousen of the Renaissance.

Then everyone in attendance sat down and enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by The Leadership Center’s talented Chef, Darcy Knickerbocker and served by 21 incredible members of the Aurora High School’s National Honor Society. Guests also enjoyed wine pairings from Niobrara Valley Vineyards and beer pairings from Prairie Pride Brewery.

After all were wined and dined, guests engaged in an incredibly spirited dessert and live auction. Our top dessert, a beautiful Christmas themed cake made by Grand Central in York, sold for $700! The gracious philanthropy didn’t end over one cake either! Thanks to our auctioneer, Kelly Kliewer, and the assistance of several talented auction models, the auction was competitive, entertaining and nothing short of fun!

We concluded the celebratory evening with tunes from none other than BD & The Boys. Having played together for 12 years, they serenaded our guests much to their delight, keeping the dance floor hopping and enjoyed by all. Adding a special touch to the evening, we all got to celebrate band member, Barry as it was his last performance with the boys. The staff surprised the tall base player with a giant bass made of chocolate cake for all to enjoy. Overall, the Harvest Gala was an amazing success. We brought in nearly $20,000.00 towards replacing the Ted Ward Lodge roof with this event putting our at almost $40,000 of the $46,000 needed.  We are humbled, grateful and moved by everyone’s kindness and support.

We have so many supporters to thank for making the Harvest Gala possible.
