The NVAF Board of Directors just met a couple of weeks ago and appointed the next board member we are going to introduce in our “Meet the Board.” Before that, here is a quick tidbit on the board!
Many people do not know that The Leadership Center is a 501(3)(c) non-profit owned and operated by the Nebraska Vocational Agricultural Foundation (NVAF.) The NVAF is a board of directors made up of 10 Nebraska Agricultural Education teachers and 5 Nebraska business people in the areas of banking, law, accounting, as well as a business person from Lincoln and one from Omaha. While our board of directors are quite active with all the happenings of The Leadership Center, they are often behind the scenes and people don’t know them beyond name. So we are going to take some blog space to introduce to you our board members. We have asked each of them to answer a set of questions.
Drumroll please! Please meet Johnny Ference, one of our At Large Board members.
Name: Johnny Ference
Job & Location: Agricultural Educator and FFA Advisor at Ord Public School
NVAF Board Position and how long have you served on the board? I was just appointed to serve as an At Large Board Member.
Favorite thing about TLC: Favorite thing is having a location in Nebraska that is the home ground for leadership training for Nebraska FFA. Also the years and countless numbers of memories I personally made.
Why do you like serving on the board or what you are looking forward to doing while serving on the board? I would like to keep the traditions of Nebraska FFA always in the fore front of my mind, but be ready to make changes to continue the success of the Leadership Center.
Anything for the good of the cause? I am very excited to be on the team and help out anyway possible.
