Wedding season is one of my favorite seasons. It means love is in the air, sweet moments are taking place and celebrations are filling the facility. I am incredibly fortunate to be able to work for a facility where I can work with couples during such a special time. This year we have held 4 weddings on property and have 2 more scheduled for the fall.

I have worked with some wonderful couples and some of my favorite couples this year.  We have seen a wide variety of themes and decor this year and they have all been incredibly unique and fitting to each couple. We also have had delicious food along the way.

The first wedding of the year was the Wiarda/Meyer ceremony which took place out on the island. It was the second wedding we have been able to use our brown chiavari chairs. Those chairs just add a touch of elegance to any wedding. The couple choose to have a beautiful pergola out on the island as their alter which had a beautiful floral swag in front and their last name initial hanging from the pergola.

Our second wedding of the year was the Brown/Carr reception. The reception had a vintage/chic theme and the decor included books and scrabble letters on each of the tables. It was a sweet and simple decor idea that really transformed the space. The couple also chose to have a popcorn bar and dessert bar instead of wedding cake. Their meal consisted of a delicious deli spread that consisted of hand carved birds out of fruit and a beautiful display put together by our chef and kitchen manager.

The Palmer/Brockman wedding was our third wedding of the year  and was Doctor Who themed. The couple was married in front of the famous tardis on our island and their officiant was in full character. It was a wonderful touch to the wedding. Their reception was a nice night spent under a blue and white ceiling. The Brockman’s were the first couple to use items off of our new special events menu. They chose our cilantro lime chicken. roasted red potatoes and California blend veggies.

Our fourth wedding was the Kost/Bankson ceremony. The couple got married on our island and chose to make it a family affair and had their dog participate in the ceremony. The decor was very simple and they had bows draped over our brown chiavari chairs. Their ceremony ended with confetti that shot out once the couple was announced.

I can’t believe that we already have four weddings under our belt. It is crazy to think how the year has flown by and that we are already halfway through 2018. I love what our couples have created so far and I love what we can offer them here. The Leadership Center allows its couples to really take a space and create whatever they envision. This year all of our couples took that and ran with it. Not one wedding was the same. They all created a special day that truly represented who they were as couples. I am looking forward to what our next two weddings create.

If you are getting married, we would love to be a part of your special day! Give us a call at (402) 694-3934 and talk to Micheala about how The Leadership Center can help make your special day even more memorable!

Have a great day!!
