It is almost November and that means all of our regularly scheduled weddings for 2018 have officially concluded for the year. Maybe we will book a last minute nuptial, but until then we are in the process of booking weddings for 2019. Before I jump into what I am looking forward to next year, I wanted to stop in and wrap up what we did this year.
We have had some wonderful weddings on property this year and some even better couples. We kicked off the wedding season in May with a beautiful ceremony out on the island. We then hosted a ceremony and a couple of receptions in June, followed by another ceremony in July. September brought another ceremony and a couple of receptions and finally we ended the season with a ceremony and reception in October. You can read here about some of the weddings in more detail.
We have seen so many cool things this year from our weddings that I just have to share what our couples have done. One of our weddings in September wanted to provide yummy munchies for their guests later in the evening so our kitchen crew put together a nacho bar. We had chips, cheese, meat and toppings that guests could build the nachos of their dream. While weddings are about the bride and groom, it is also important to think about your guests and this was a unique way to think about their guests. It was a great little addition to their reception and all of their guests absolutely loved it.
Another one of our receptions utilized two different spaces for their reception. They had cocktails and appetizers outside on our island, and then they enjoyed their main meal inside the building and then ended the evening outside on the island dancing the night away. This was our first reception that utilized the property that way. We loved it so much and thankfully, it was an beautiful September evening to celebrate outside.
Finally, the last cool thing we saw this year, was a couple that utilized the property in a way none of our couples have ever done. We had a couple that made their wedding a family weekend. The Friday before their wedding, they invited all of their guests to gather in our gym for a game night. They gathered, played Bunco and made memories. They also offered breakfast to their guests on both Saturday and Sunday morning. Most of their guests were from out of state, so putting the thought in to providing breakfast for their guests was a nice step to elevate the weekend. Their ceremony and their reception also took place on property that weekend. It was a great way to gather everyone and to make a fun weekend even more fun and memorable.
We have some exciting things coming in 2019. Not only do we have some great weddings happening on property in 2019, but we also have some new additions coming to our property. Starting next year, we will be offering an outdoor reception space. The space will be located North on the property. We have been working on this for a couple of years and we are very excited to be able to provide a new, unique space to our couples. We will also be purchasing new chairs, dishes, silverware, etc., which will be a nice update to everyone,’s dining experience for not just our weddings, but all events.
This wedding season was a special one for me. The majority of the weddings we had fell under our old pricing structure, but our very last wedding this year was the first one under the new pricing structure that I worked hard to develop. It was a dream come to life. It was definitely a season of growing for me, I learned a lot and I worked on honing my skills as an event coordinator. I still have a lot to learn and develop, but I am really excited about what is to come. I enjoyed seeing what I envisioned in my head take shape and seeing a great couple fully utilize the new program to its fullest. I am very excited to see what our couples have in store for next year and to book more weddings under the new pricing structure. We still have several dates available, so if you are interested in holding your wedding or reception here please give me a call at (402) 694-3934.
This is really just the beginning and I can’t wait to see what 2019 has to bring!
