I feel like I blinked and 2018 came and went. It is hard to believe that it is 2019. With 2018 came many great things personally, but also professionally. I wanted to recap some of the great things that took place for me in 2018.

Hochstetler/Unruh Wedding

2018 was the first official year of my new wedding program. Many of the weddings that took place in 2018 were under our old pricing and wedding structure, but in October, we had our first wedding under the new pricing and wedding structure. The wedding was the perfect fit for this new pricing. They were able to utilize the entire property and make a wonderful weekend celebration. It was not just perfect for us, but for the couple as well. A dream come true for them. It was a great start and I can’t wait to see what our 2019 weddings hold!

Catering was also something that we really started focusing on in 2018. We created and launched our new menu. We also catered a couple of meetings off grounds last year. It was a great way to get our toes wet and really get our names out there. We started small, but I have a feeling that the word will spread and we will start getting more phone calls for catering events.

Many of our clients allowed us to stretch what we can do this year. We faced problems we have never faced this year, but tackled them with excitement and optimism. There were times when we had to get creative on setups, space usage and even worked hard to make a dream entrance for a bride. It was a lot of fun to see how we took those challenges and worked together to figure them out.

David Tutera and I

I have to say the highlight of my year was attending Wedding MBA in Las Vegas with Maile. Continuing education and continuing to improve my skills is something that is important to me and I definitely was able to do that there. I have quite a few things that I want to experiment with in 2019 and I am excited that. I also was able to network and meet so many wonderful people. The biggest highlight of Wedding MBA by far was getting to meet David Tutera who is a celebrity event planner. He inspired me to get into this business and that was a full circle moment for me that I will cherish forever.

2018 was a very crazy and hectic year, but I can honestly say that I can’t wait to see what 2019 has to bring. I am ready to grow, be challenged and make many more memories this year!

Have a great day!
