For nearly 30 years, an incredible group of artists have converged on The Leadership Center to spend time creating, fellowshipping and enjoying a beautiful week with friends.

Art Run Away was founded by the sweetest person, Steph Hansen. For many years, she organized this retreat and invited artists from all over to join her on a week of creating and fellowship. About 5 years ago, The Leadership Center took over this event to ease the administration of it all. As many know, our dear friend, Steph passed away after fiercely battling cancer. Through it all, she found time to create art, laughter, and joy everywhere she went. She encouraged us to continue to offer this time to encourage others to create art, laughter, and joy too! Whether you knew her or not, if you are an artist who wants to create art in a space that is warm and welcoming, please consider joining us. This time is open to any artist looking to retreat and work on their art. There are several "regulars" every year as well as "new" friends. ALL ARE WELCOME.

Every attendee will recieve an 8ft table and chair to work at in the Art Studio. The studio opens on Sunday at 9 a.m. and does not close until Friday at 6 p.m.

You are welcome to bring your projects and supplies to get your creative juices flowing! We will offer a light continental breakfast each morning from 7:30-9 a.m. if you'd like to pick up something light. We will serve lunch each day at Noon and supper at 5:30 p.m. Our talented kitchen staff is happy to work with any deitaries if you let us know about them! Our attendees will have access to our pool & sauna too.

Depending on availablity, Madison with Revitalize Message Therapy, will be on hand to offer massages for you to book. Massages are not covered in your package price.

PLEASE NOTE:
The studio will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Sunday to all artists. The first meal will be supper @ 5:30 p.m.
The studio will close at 6 p.m. on Friday night. The last meal will be Lunch @ Noon on Friday.
For those that may want to travel in early or stay a bit later, you are welcome too. The studio opening and closing time will not change.

If you can only make it from time to time, THAT’S OK! If you’ve already read the books and seen the movies and love talking about them….and want to come to club, please do. Audiobook listeners welcome too. Whether you join us for every week of this journey or come and go, we get it. Life is busy, there are commitments and time gets away from you! With this guide you’ll have an idea of where we’ll be each week.

Come when you can and come as you are. This is a welcoming community looking forward to taking this book journey with you!

If you love words and want to have a cup of coffee with others in our community who also love to write - join us at Espressions! This is a time for writers of any kind to come and sit together and work on their current work in progress or start a new project.

This means ALL WRITERS of any age and experience level are welcome. You can work on a novel, short story, blog...a paper! Come write.

While you grab a cup of coffee or another beverage and enjoy a little time, your child can join us for for Stories. Adventure awaits, inside the pages of our books. Join us for Stories, and develop a love of books and literarture. Craft of activities will follow the story.

For children, ages 3-8. We ask that children are not just dropped off for storytime as this is not daycare.

"Cain's Jawbone" is a murder mystery puzzle written by "Torquemada"-Edward Powys Mathers. The puzzle was first published in 1934 as part of The Torquemada Puzzle Book. In 2019, crowdfunding publisher Unbound published a new stand-alone edition of the puzzle in collaboration with the charity The Laurence Sterne Trust.

Cain's Jawbone has been described as "one of the hardest and most beguiling word puzzles ever published. This club started this summer and has continuted on! So each Friday evening, we're hosting "Friday Night Murder Club" at Espressions. You'll find our 'crime board' as a part of the Potter Common Rooms in the back! Join us for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat as we move the pages around in this great mystery looking for the solution. Come when you can or come each Friday! We'll see you there.

Join us for Scribbles with Ella at 10:30! Each week you get to learn a new doodle. Stop by to enjoy a free guided drawing lesson.

If you have ever been into Espressions, you may have noticed we have thing for miniatures! It might be because we're short.

If you haven't been into the shop, if you have been on pintrest, altoid miniatures are all over the place.

In this class, we're going to offer you the opportunity to build one yourself!! We have 4 themes for you to pick from, but that said, we will have lots of things on site, so we might have what you are looking for should you like to deviate from the plan...but no guarentees. Those who attend, will have the opportunity to scultp with polymer clay if you'd like, build book shelves and trellises, books and more. For planning purposes, we will ask you to pick a theme, but we plan to have plenty of supplies on hand.

When you are done, you will leave with your vary own handmade altoid miniature!

No experience needed either! Bring a positive attitude, a creative spirit and a willingness to try.

We hope you are able to join us for an afternoon of mini builidng and big fun!

Join us for a variety of table-top roleplaying games fit for all ages and skill levels!

What to bring? Notebooks, pencils, and dice will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own materials and figurines!
How do I join? Just show up! There is not entry fee or prerequisites to join D & D except a love for adventure, dungeons, and occaisonal dragons! You are not required to attend every session. There will be single session and multi-session campaings offered.
