Summer Food Service Program
(or as we like to call it, Lunch Bunch Program)
Lunch Bunch Mission: Our mission is to create a nurturing environment for youth aged 18 and under. Through the dedication of engaged adults and student leaders, we provide wholesome meals, enriching activities, and opportunities for community engagement every weekday during the summer. Our aim is to cultivate lasting friendships and mentorship connections among young participants.
2025 SFSP "Lunch Bunch" is over for the summer. We served 3,970 free lunches this summer between our 3 communities! Thanks to all who attended, volunteered and supported our efforts this summer.
Help us fund Lunch Bunch in 2025!
Since 2018, we have served free lunches and offered enrichment activities during the summer, Monday through Friday in Aurora (since 2018), Marquette (since 2021) and at our newest addition, Central City (since 2023). In 2025, we served 3,970 lunches. This means we have served over 22,770 free lunches since we began "Lunch Bunch" in 2018!
We also introduced 117 students to service leadership through our D4LC program in 2025. This takes us to 2600 students in the last few years!
This program is offered in partnership with the cities of Aurora and Central City, and the village of Marquette along with Heartbeets Garden, the Aurora Mall, St. John's Lutheran Church, TLC’s D4LC programs and made possible by fundraising and private donations. Meals are partially funded by the USDA's summer food service program.
