We are beginning the Harry Potter series! Along with this club, we will also be hosting a Saturday morning club to. Please note that you can go between the clubs as it suits your schedule. If you can only make it from time to time, THAT’S OK! If you’ve already read the books and seen the movies and love talking about them….and want to come to club, please do. Audiobook listeners welcome too. Whether you join us for every week of this journey or come and go, we get it. Life is busy, there are commitments and time gets away from you! With this guide you’ll have an idea of where we’ll be each week.
Come when you can and come as you are. This is a welcoming community looking forward to taking this book journey with you!
Coffee & Crafts
Coffee & Crafts is a time for you to sip a cup of joe (or tea—or anything you like!) while working on a craft alongside fellow crafters. You’ll find people crocheting, doing diamond art, painting, drawing, making cards and jewelry, and more. It’s a wonderful, relaxed environment—come and go as you please.
On the 4th Thursday of each month, during Coffee & Crafts, we try to offer a guided crafting experience for those who are interested. (You can totally do your own thing too!) This Thursday, we’ll be making paper bag junk journals! These journals are a simple and fun way to use everyday supplies you can find around your home. You’re welcome to bring your own supplies, but we’ll also have everything you need to get started.
During this session, we’ll construct your journal, and if you’d like, you can begin embellishing it as well. We’ll have a variety of journal supplies available for you to use and try. This experience costs $10 per person. Pre-registration is preferred; however, walk-ins are absolutely welcome!
Friday Night Murder Club
"Cain's Jawbone" is a murder mystery puzzle written by "Torquemada"-Edward Powys Mathers. The puzzle was first published in 1934 as part of The Torquemada Puzzle Book. In 2019, crowdfunding publisher Unbound published a new stand-alone edition of the puzzle in collaboration with the charity The Laurence Sterne Trust.
Cain's Jawbone has been described as "one of the hardest and most beguiling word puzzles ever published. This club started this summer and has continuted on! So each Friday evening, we're hosting "Friday Night Murder Club" at Espressions. You'll find our 'crime board' as a part of the Potter Common Rooms in the back! Join us for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat as we move the pages around in this great mystery looking for the solution. Come when you can or come each Friday! We'll see you there.
It is not nessary, but if you'd like to get a copy of "Cain's Jawbone", we have a link below.
Game Night at Espressions
We are going on a board game adventure! Come and play a new game or bring an old favorite! Bring your friends and family too!
This event allows us to provide a space for our community to gather, connect, and enjoy some fun over coffee.
We hope you'll join us!
Model Farm Workshop #1
Build your very own miniature farm at the Model Farm Workshop! On a pizza box.
Using toy tractors, farm animals, trucks, Barbies, and a mix of creative materials, you’ll design and construct your own farm or other scene to scale — bringing imagination and agriculture together in a fun, hands-on way.
We’ll provide all the supplies you need — pizza boxes, glue, colored paper, paint, coffee grounds, rocks, and vermiculite and more — but we encourage you to bring your own favorite (farm) toys to help create your scene!
While instructors Alex Stocker and Chaz Boeder typically work in 1/64 scale, at this workshop we’ll build with whatever you bring — and we promise to have fun doing it!
Every participant will also receive free admission to the 2nd Annual TLC Toy Show in February and the opportunity to display their model farm at the event.
Instructors:
🏆 Alex Stocker & Chaz Boeder
Award-Winning Model Farm Builders — Nebraska State & National Summer Farm Toy Show
All ages welcome! We ask that a parent or guardian accompany children under 10.
We hope you come to create and have fun with us!
** Please note, workshop fees are non-refundable.
